Itinerary

Day 1 : (Kathmandu)Day 1 - Arrive Kathmandu

The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek includes 10 days of trekking in the Annapurna Himalaya, 1 day in Pokhara, 4 days in Katmandu (including sightseeing and project visit), giving a total of 15 days in Nepal. The trekking itinerary is designed to be achievable and enjoyable for most trekkers and nature lovers.

Day 2 : (Kathmandu)Day 2 - In Kathmandu

Full day sightseeing in the Katmandu Valley such as temple sites, Buddhist Monastery sites, Durbar complex and old bazaar with our English Speaking City Guide. Overnight at the Hotel.  

Day 3 : (Trek)Day 3 - Katmandu/Pokhara/Trek

After breakfast, transfer to the domestic airport and fly to Pokhara. After assembled ours luggage and meet our trekking crew, we then drive from Pokhara airport to Naya Pool (1135M), which takes approximate one and half hour and we then proceed on trek towards Birethanti at 1065M, which is located on the opposite bank of Modi Khola. There is a large and prosperous town with a winding street paved with large stones. After immediately leaving the main street of Birethanti we pass through a large waterfall and swimming hole and our trail stays on the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola on a fairly level up to Sudame village. After Sudame, the trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley about 45 minutes to reach the next village - HILLE. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 4 : (Trek)Day 4 - Trek to GHOREPANI (2853M)

Today, after crossing over the Bhurungdi Khola (River) on a large bridge at 1410M, the trail immediately climbs steeply up to the large Magar village of Ulleri at 2080M. As we climb, the tops of Annapurna South (7219M) and Hiunchuli (6441M) begin to emerge from behind the hills. After Ulleri, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields. The fields soon give way to deep forest as the trail climbs to Banthati at 2300m where we stop for our hot lunch. Beyond the village of Banthati, there are magnificent oak and rhododendron forest.  From here, Ghorepani can be reached in about 3 hours past some sparkling clear streams and some Tea shops. We continue onto the pass at Deurali at 2900M, about 20 minutes behind Ghorepani. It is worth staying at the pass to see the spectacular panorama of Dhaulagiri I, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Glacier Dome.

Day 5 : (Trek)Day 5 - Trek to TADAPANI (2540m)

At about 4am start for the hour-long trek to Poon Hill (3195m) rewards you with one of the finest dawn panoramas you are ever likely to see. After soaking in the wonderful views of the Himalaya we descend to Ghorepani for our hot breakfast. From Ghorepani, we climb up along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali (2960m). After that we descend to Banthanti and turn off to Tadapani.

Day 6 : (Trek)Day 6 - Trek to CHOMRONG (2170m)

Trek to CHOMRONG (2170m) about 5 hour’s walk. Overnight at Lodge.


There is a steep downhill as we leave Tadapani, taking us through deep forests. The trail then makes steep switchbacks through corn and millet fields and over an old suspension bridge over the Kyumun Khola. There is a climb up to Gurjung village and then over a stream and bridge and on to Chomrong

Day 7 : (Trek)Day 7 - Trek to DHOVAN (2540m)

Trek to DHOVAN (2540m) about 6 hour’s walk. Overnight at Lodge. 

Today the trail drops down to the Chomrong Khola and we trek through beautiful forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak on the way to Tilche. From there the rocky path takes you to the abandoned settlement of Khuldi, once a British sheep-breeding project and ACAP check post. A steep staircase through more beautiful forest of bamboos, shrubs and oaks leads you to Dhovan where we spend the night

Day 8 : (Trek)Day 8 - Trek to DEURALI (3140m)

Trek to DEURALI (3140m) about 4 hour’s walk. Overnight stay at the Lodge.


Today we trek high above the river, crossing mountain spectacles including an avalanche chute and landslide. More lush bamboo lines the route to Himalayan Hotel and there is a temple in the forest where Nepali’s leave offerings. At Hinko (3020m) you can see the Hinko Cave which gives shelter from avalanches and rain. Hinko is the stretch of trail that is most subject to avalanche, and we stay overnight on the ridge above this in Deurali.

Day 9 : (Trek)Day 9 - Trek to ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP (4130M)

Trek to ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP (4130m) about 5 -6 hour’s walk. Overnight at Lodge.


Today the trail climbs on past the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (no longer a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted) along a moraine to the Annapurna Base Camp. This area is totally surrounded by mountains and is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, and is a sight to behold. You have to option of ending your day at Machhapuchhre Base Camp or trekking the two hours and 430m of ascent to Annapurna Base Camp. You are rewarded with brilliant views of the near-vertical south face of Annapurna I (8,091M) and many other snow-clad Peaks.

Day 10 : (Trek)Day 10 - Trek back to DHOVAN

Explore Hidden Valley & trek to back DHOVAN about 5 hour’s walk. Overnight at Lodge. 
 

Journey into the quiet and spectacular hidden valley for another high mountain and enjoy the Magnificent Himalayas including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Tent Peak, Singachuli Peak, Machhapuchhre and more before you heading down hills back to Dhovan. Overnight at Dhovan in the Lodge.

Day 11 : (Trek)Day 11 - Trek/Pokhara

Trek to JHINU DANDA about 5 – 6 hour’s walk. Overnight at Lodge.


On an absolute high after the last couple of days you will romp down to Jhinu Danda where you can laze in natural hot springs. Go on! You can deserve it!! Overnight at Jhinu Danda in the Lodge.  

Day 12 : (Trek)Day 12 - Trek back to NAYA POOL via Shauli Bazaar and Birethanti about 5 - 6 hour’s walk. Drive back to Pokha

The last morning start to enjoy the sunrise over the Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail). The Hike starts with an awesome penultimate day on trek. Tumbling waterfalls and stunning vistas greet you on every twist and turn of the trail. Finally arrived back to NAYA POOL where our vehicle is waiting to drive back to POKHARA with exciting turnings and villages. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13 : (Pokhar)Day 13 - In Pokhara

Day in Pokhara for independent activities. Overnight atthe Hotel.

Day 14 : (Kathmandu)Day 14 - Pokhara/Kathmandu

Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu & upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfers to Hotel/Guest House.
